Martin Luther King, Jr

There is a reason why of all historical figures, Martin Luther King stands out for me. It stems from a space of recognizing that being different or rare doesn’t mean you are inferior(Valueless). He is an embodiment of different being unique; he stood out and defied the odds. Of course, there are other highlights we see from his life. One is pushing for revolution without violence.

Martin Luther King proved that the fabric of society is woven by all individuals. Can you imagine your local Pastor leading marches and rallies to talk about civil rights? In today’s time and age, that seems absurd! Religious leaders seem to be limited in their places of worship only. It might seem like a rock-hard situation but, they are not restricted from being activists.

As human beings, everything we do is a result of a belief. Every decision we make and the choices we make are a result of our belief systems. It is made clear in what Martin Luther King said in his famous “I have a dream” speech. It is said, words without actions are dead. Sure enough, Martin Luther King had strategic plans for different places in America on how to ignite zeal and motivation among the American people.

His belief in a better future free of discrimination is the reason why we still refer to him today. That belief made his dreams-for America- a reality. One bit of Martin Luther King’s speech that challenges me: “I have a dream today.” It makes me ask myself if I have a vision of what I want to see. What you envision manifests.
